Disaster Prevention Facilities for Dams and Rivers

  • Management facilities for dams and weirs
  • Telemetric facilities for rivers
  • Alarm facilities for discharge
  • Radar facilities for rain-gauge
  • Disaster prevention facilities for municipalities
  • Multiplex facilities

Management facilities for dams and weirs

These are the facilities which provide arithmetic processing relating to the management of dams and weirs to control and support discharge.

Telemetric facilities for rivers

These are the facilities which monitor and collect/send information on the amount of rainfall as well as the water level for the purpose of controlling the rivers.

Alarm facilities for discharge

These are the facilities which announce the messages and set off siren at the time of discharge from dams and weirs to notify the people near the rivers of the change in water level.

Radar facilities for rain-gauge

These are the facilities which use radio waves to observe the intensity of precipitation in a broad dimension. They are used for the forecasting of water level of rivers and dams as well as disaster prevention.

Disaster prevention facilities for municipalities

These are the facilities for securing communication and transmission of information at the time of disasters.

Multiplex facilities

These are the wireless facilities which use microwaves to transmit and receive information of large volume.

Satellite communications system for disaster prevention

These are the facilities which enable the speedy securing of wireless lines wherever the vehicles loaded thereof go.

Satellite communications system for disaster prevention
Disaster Relief for Kumamoto Earthquake
Satellite communications vehicles are the vehicles owned by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport, and Tourism ("MLITT") equipped with satellite communications facilities. There are only a limited number of these vehicles across Japan. MARUTSU DEM PA is in charge of the maintenance and inspection of one of these vehicles in Fukui Prefecture. When the Kumamoto Earthquake occurred in April 2016, we visited the site for disaster relief upon request of the government two days after the main quake. We were responsible for the establishment, operation, and maintenance of the satellite communications vehicle, and provided support by sending necessary data including the images and information from the scene. Two of our employees collaborated with the staff of the MLITT to form a team of approximately ten members, and we were committed to the support for about two weeks while dispatching replacement of our employees from time to time. This is how we respond to emergencies in add巾on to our regular inspection of disaster prevention facilities.

Disaster Prevention Facilities for Roads

  • Telemetric facilities for roads
  • Highway radio facilities
  • Road information board equipment
  • Lighting facilities for roads and tunnels
  • Radio rebroadcasting facilities
  • Emergency warning equipment in tunnels

Telemetric facilities for roads

These are the facilities which monitor and collect/send information on the amount of rainfall as well as the conditions of temperature, moistness, and freezing of road surfaces.

Highway radio facilities

These are the broadcasting facilities which only provide the road traffic information on highways.

Road information board equipment

These are the equipment which provide information on construction, traffic, and meteorology to allow safe and comfortable use of roads.

Lighting facilities for roads and tunnels

These are the lighting facilities installed on roads and in tunnels to allow safe and comfortable use of roads.

Radio rebroadcasting facilities

These are the facilities which enable listening to the radio broadcasting in tunnels, and which also forcibly feed disaster information upon occurrence of accidents and/or fire.

Emergency warning equipment in tunnels

These are the equipment which notify other drivers of the accidents which occurred inside the tunnels at an early stage as well as report to the relevant authorities.

  • Gas Heat Pump (GHP) Facilities
  • Generator Facilities
  • Uninterruptible Power-supply Facilities

Gas Heat Pump (GHP) Facilities

Gas Heat Pump (GHP) Facilities

Generator Facilities

These are the facilities which start automatically and supply electricity at the time of power outage.

Uninterruptible Power-supply Facilities

These are the facilities which supply electricity at the time of power outage. They protect computers and other important electronic devices from sudden power outage.
